First paper
Students should write an original paper (essay) of 2500-3000 words developing an issue chosen by them in accordance with the Professor. For that purpose they can be helped by the the different reading materials facilitated for that first paper, the general readings of the course and the comments and handouts used for the lectures. But the main purpose of this task is to show up student's autonomous writing work.
Papers must be submitted electronically via Virtual Campus or per e-mail before the due date and must have the following format: Arial 12 p., 1.5 line space, justified alignment.
The delivery date for the first paper is due on November, 20th, 2009.
The paper will be evaluated taking into account the conceptual understanding of the issues dealt with, the ability to make an critical and rational analysis of the matter, a good structured development of the issue and the clarity and precision of the legal terms used.

- Cultural assimilationism and criteria for attaching nationality by birth in your home country
- Cultural assimilationism and naturalization criteria in your home country
- Democracy and Nationality
- Nationality and multiculural exercise of fundamental rights
- Historical roots of nationality or citizenship in your home country
